Bristol is a great city, full of life and energy. Its history is of course chequered but it for the most part now recognises this.

Southville in Bristol is home to Upfest, some really great street art.

Bristol is famous for its street art, home of Banksy, the (normally) annual Upfest street art fair / competition held in Southville. Sadly it also has its fair share of unruly graffiti.

The sheer number of restaurants, café bars, gastro pubs is sometimes overwhelming.

The quality and sheer number of simply great places to eat is surely the highest per capita in the country. With examples of just a very few of my favourites: Fine dining: Casamia, Bullrush, Wilsons: Indian: Chai Shia, Chowk, Asian, Thali: Bauhinia, Tuk Tuk, Pho, Souk Kitchen (Mediterranean) - but dozens of other great places.

Bristol is also famous for its Balloon Fiesta and Ballon maker Cameron Balloons.

In Bristol the Harbourside (one of the best in the UK) which in part is the legacy of Brunel (The Clifton Suspension Bridge, The SS Great Britain, Temple Meads Station and much more) and the Balloon Fiesta it is a fascinating place to visit.
